Until now, there are nearly 30 cities in China that have plan to undertake metro rail infrastructure construction. Around 20 cities are permitted to construct or expand metro rail system. Besides，9 new programs are under evaluation of State Government. Potential plans of metro rail system are underway in 229 cities which have dense population.. By 2050, we can see the number of metro rail lines increase to 289, and total mileage will reach 11700km.

The rapid development brings a large opportunity in the urban rail transit meanwhile a big chanllenge to us. It involves all procedures including programming, design, construction, equipment, construction, installation, operation,etc. The obstacles of the procedure are not only from technical aspect as how to promote security monitor and emergency solving ability, provide echo-friendly transit system, create the specialized system but also from financing, intelligent shortage in rail transit industry.

Rail Transit Global Forum is held by RT Rail Transit magazine published by HNZ industry Media Group. It is held in Shanghai or Beijing every year's spring or autumn by turns. Until now, Rail Transit Global Forum has been held for 7 years.

The 8th World Metro Rail Summit China 2012 is to be held at China National Convention Center on April 26 -27th 2012. It is a high-level international summit and is the biggest metro rail summit in Asia. Attendees are leaders in metro business, varied from planning, construction, design to operation, appealling to more than 40+ metro construction and operation organizations and nearly 200 enterprises who provide consulting, designing, constructing and equipment supplying. Generally,over 600 registered delegates will attend the summit.
